Yeah, I've been seeing them more and more recently. Hopefully the problem doesn't worsen.

I've seen it on other Gawker subsidiaries before. We need some sort of spam alert so the admins can delete it and block the user.

Occasionally get some thing similar. Don't know how they do it. I just send the link to a mod so they can deal with it.

I've seen one or two around. I've never understood how this works; is it a business model of capturing a tiny TINY portion of idiots and scamming them, or is it SEO related and then selling ad space on the site they are promoting? Either way, They can

They are not an Oppo author, just a spam person with a Kinja account.

let's just say my LFS clan's forum is getting full of these, and are spamming our forum. about 3 randomly named accounts are made per day.

haha yeah no this is more than likely a scammer. Link spamming is pretty much ineffective anymore, and I doubt this would count as a "social signal" at all. There is a rash of emails caught up in my filter that say pretty much the same exact thing

It's called comment spam, and it's relatively common. First of all, don't reply to these comments because it gives them visibility.
Second, please report the user by email to the Kinja overlords as follows :
Send an email to helpbox@kinja.com
Put "Kinja spammer account" or something similar in the subject
Put a short message with the username and/or link to the user's page in the body. For example, "User http://thatwillbuffout.kinja.com appears to be posting comment spam on Kinja sites"
You'll get a reply back in a day or two and the account should be closed.

Ah yes, I remember in the old website form this was a real issue, there would be three or four spams on every post.

did you actually click through and get that screen shot? I don't need to draw undue attention to my pornographic viewing on company time, so I can't risk it :) Damn "Kelly Richards", why must you be so enticing? I don't even know what that symbol is, but I know that thing redirects somewhere

I grabbed the first one, then closed the window. Then found the other one by searching.
I'm sure there's more of them.

Hey Roger, what a great retort. But like Lawrence was saying, his aunt made $3,392.19 just in the last hour. Tony's brother did the same thing. Just wait until Tyrel see's this comment. He will give an affirmative answer to your quandary.
